The Eyes A Well

The Eyes A Well

Honesty is a folly
And the heart was damned
And coursed, in quiet trickles
It’s blood dripped, a wish that rippled
Across the well, pain resounding upward
Pain to cast you astray, it fears the sun
Wandering son, Lord I don’t wish to heed
No words to aid my sleep, weeping in the mind, time leaves me behind, forward and you’re always ahead, a noon’s shadow
Forward and you’re always ahead,
On my face, what should’ve been said
The eyes, gave a gaze, a dark well,
Wallowing soul with a story to tell.
