My Virtuous Wife

January 9, 2018 - Heart matters
My Virtuous Wife

God, let me go home to a wife who loves you more than me
Who loves your house more than our house
And loves your son more than our sons

God, let your word be always on her lips
Let her blossom in your favor
And praise your name not her wealth

Let her petal both in season and out of season
Gracing the world with her beauty
Let her be a virtuous woman

Let her beat her flesh and strive to live in her spirit
So that she may not be disqualified for the prize
Let her rebuke and purge evil around her

Let her not be ashamed of your word
But let her be a lighthouse of hope
And illuminate the world with wisdom
