November 14, 2017 - Reflections

Excuse me Light!
Would you turn down the beam so that I can see my way in the dark?
For your brightness is the last thing I need right now,

I closed my eyes the moment I craved for you,
and you took so long,
possibly because you had to get a light bulb,
And I got so used to the darkness

My heart got used to be broken,
That its permanently plastered,
Permanently filled with cracks and crevices
that hide the truth from me,

For ages you have told me that I am the best I can ever be,
The truth is,
at my best,
I am my worst enemy,
I am chained to a darkness so thick,
I can’t see myself,
or I can’t see myself free.

So before I self-expunge, destruct and exterminate,
Please shine Your light once more!!!
