If you should wake up and find me not

December 29, 2015 - Crestfallen, Heart matters
If you should wake up and find me not

If you should wake up and find me not
Don’t cry, let not a tear drop
Be happy, smile all you can
Because I wouldn’t want to find you sad

If you should wake up and find me not
Cherish and ponder on the times we were together
Laughing, holding hands or even not saying a word
Because each of those meant the world to me

If you should wake up and find me not
Don’t dare to remember the times we fought
The times you hurt me or the times I made you cry
Forget it all and remember how we made up

If you should wake up and find me not
Don’t wish you had said something earlier
Don’t regret having lost an opportunity to say something
I read it all, even the unsaid

If you should wake up and find me not
Remember that love never dies
My heart is filled to the brim by this love
And it overflows

If you should wake up and find me not
Ponder on the fact that I haven’t left you
I have left you with my memory and love
Something that is undefined and inconceivable
I am not gone, rather I am here with you.
